PRESENTERS

Kenneth Strickhouser, Senior Operations Manager, has been with Dentsply Sirona since 1990. He’s worked numerous positions from the shop floor to leading three different sites. Ken earned his MBA from Northeastern University and his B.S. in Business Management from Penn State University. Regarding Lean practices, he earned his green belt from an internal lean six sigma program, and recently earned a lean practitioner certification from MANTEC.

Since becoming the site lead for Smile Way in 2019, Ken has focused on changing the culture through both digital and physical attributes. The site engages in both forms through strategically placed kiosks along with engaged leaders educated in the discipline of sustaining good culture. Key metrics of safety, quality, delivery, I\inventory, cost, and people are focused areas of our engagement practices through a disciplined and proactive manner.

Phil Tarkington joined Dentsply Sirona in 2010 as an Electrical Engineer. In 2018, he transitioned into the role of Facilities Manager and shortly after the Site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. Phil’s EHS role also has the responsibility of being the radiation and laser safety office for the site.

Phil collaborated on numerous digital flow designs at Smile Way such as; near miss, employee recognition (on the spot), and safety engagement (daily leader to led app) and has continued to support other digital engagement applications created. His approach to safety includes a DMAIC approach to ensure all levels of the site are engaged and a true root cause is found.
