One of our home team members shared that she was ecstatic to see her idol, Taylor Swift, in concert last week, as it was her dream and at the top of her bucket list. How awesome is that!
This inspired me to ponder my own bucket list items. You know, those dreams that fuel our passion and thrill us. They include things we want to accomplish in our lives, places we wish to visit or people we would be elated to meet. I am a bucket list person, constantly seeking the next experience. I participated in a Naval Embark on the Harry S. Truman, where we flew out and landed on an aircraft carrier. I graduated from the FBI Citizens Academy, became certified as a Virginia State Supreme Court Mediator, and even met two of my celebrity idols, Betty White and Simon Cowell. I am also four states away from visiting all the U.S. states, which I plan to complete soon.
Another other bucket list item of mine is to make a difference. I think we all can relate to this. As continuous improvement professionals, we make a difference every day. We build meaningful employment environments for others and help people improve their work lives and feel heard. We’re innovators, always searching for better, more efficient ways for our teams to achieve goals. Our jobs are rewarding and fulfilling.
In a little less than three months, we will be celebrating at the AME Cleveland 2023 Conference. There will be many opportunities to fulfill your bucket list – you will meet the authors of books you read, hear from world-class industry leaders, experience fantastic tours and network with people who share your passion for continuous improvement. And while you’re in Cleveland, you can visit amazing places like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Christmas House.
I look forward to seeing you all there. As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
