Volunteers are at the very heart of AME. Their contributions and dedication are vital to our organization and the services we are able to provide. AME offers a variety of ways for members to get involved, from short-term volunteer projects to board and committee service. Our volunteers develop their professional skills and connections, give back to the continuous improvement community and form lasting friendships as they share, learn and grow together. Since our creation as a not-for-profit in 1985 by a group of volunteers, AME has grown to represent approximately 4,000 members. Today, AME is primarily driven by volunteers who provide relentless support, energy and time to help their fellow members prosper in today’s challenging global marketplace. AME volunteers enable our vision of a modern-day manufacturing renaissance driven by people-centric leadership coupled with enterprise excellence.
Why volunteer with AME?
"I would never had had the opportunity to have this network and be surrounded by so many talented people if I had not volunteered for AME." - Katherine Manuel, AME volunteer
"The organization is awesome and good to their volunteers. Even though you’re volunteering, you still network with people and learn so much. It’s also just an amazing conference." - Nicki Schmidt, AME volunteer
"It has been valuable to benchmark how other companies have tackled continuous improvement." - Kanak Bhalla, AME volunteer
"I would encourage people to volunteer because it’s a great learning experience. It’s also a great networking experience. The people you meet are amazing. There are phenomenally talented individuals in the organization and having the chance to interact with them on a volunteer basis, you can learn from them." - John Rubio, AME volunteer
