AME Lean Certification
AME Lean Certification is based on a common structure across all levels. Each belt level within AME’s program is evaluated based on three criteria:
Basic requirements
Leadership skills
Lean tools proficiency
As participants advance through each belt, they may also achieve Tool Belt certifications focused on specific lean tools at each level.

Belt-Level Breakdown
Yellow Belt
Introduces foundational lean concepts. This workshop will focus on the following:
Understand the language of lean that anyone can understand, both in production and in office environments
Learn critical thinking elements that all leaders should know to successfully lead people and manage processes
Create system thinking and understand how cost is related to decisions
Learn tools that you can immediately implement at your company to engage your workforce and instantly uncover and reduce waste
Break down cross-functional barriers to drive effective collaboration
Who should participate in Yellow Belt workshops and certification?
Individuals starting their lean journey who demonstrate knowledge and initial practical experience in lean. Offered monthly virtually or on-site.
Green Belt
Builds on foundational knowledge toward applying Lean at a deeper level.
Advanced assessment
Comprehensive leadership training in Lean application
Advanced Lean tool proficiency
Who should participate in Green Belt workshops and certification?
Leaders responsible for leading lean initiatives within their teams or departments and who already have Yellow Belt Certification.
Black Belt
Achieving mastery and strategic application of lean.
Rigorous assessment of principles and skills
Project-based work package proving mastery and measurable impact
High-level training of lean leadership
Understanding strategic deployment and defining measurable results
Who should participate in Black Belt workshop and certification?
Individuals seeking to lead enterprise-level Lean initiatives with proven expertise and results.
