DESCRIPTION

In this Dine & Learn event Art Byrne will share insights from his new book "The Lean Turnaround Answer Book." Art will share some key lessons that draw on his personal experience of creating a lean culture at The Wiremold Company and of being a key initiator of lean at Danaher Corporation such as:

  • How to create a lean culture
  • What was Danaher like in the early days of lean?

Participants will gain the perspective & insights on the behaviors that are necessary to establish a strong lean culture as well as participate in discussion and Q&A with one of the most influential thought leaders in lean.

PRESENTER

Art Byrne started his lean journey in January 1982 during his first General Manager job at GE when his division was responsible for the first just-in-time [lean] implementation at GE. Later, as group executive he and one of his group presidents initiated lean at The Danaher Corporation. Then as CEO of the Wiremold Company he led an aggressive lean implementation that increased enterprise value by just under 2,500% in a little over nine years and won a Shingo Prize. Next, as an pperating partner at J W Childes Associates he was responsible for implementing lean across their entire private equity portfolio. Art is the author of The Lean Turnaround and The Lean Turnaround Action Guide, which won a Shingo Publication prize. He is a member of the Shingo Academy, the Industry Week Magazine Manufacturing Hall of Fame and the AME [American Manufacturing Excellence] hall of fame.
