At Husky Building Supply we will be touring the millwork operation which includes a variety of woodworking processes used to manufacture products for this important market segment. The company President and his operations team will highlight lean concepts (e.g., at the gemba versus on the gemba) and significant operational improvements. They will describe the morning meeting and best practices/concepts with a focus on the QC process. Overall, the tour will describe how they developed a culture that supports all of their continuous improvement activity.

Huskey Truss and Building Supply, establshed in 1945, is a family owned and operated lumber and building material supply company. It is a distributor of framing lumber and a maufacturer of trusses, wall panels, and millwork products for new construction projects. Serving the middle Tennessee and surrounding markets, Huskey operates three lumber yards, one truss/component plant, and a millwork shop, all located in the greater Nashville area.
