From the CEO: “I’m willing to make you a hero.”

AME | August 7, 2025

Dear Present, Past and Future AME Members:

“I’m willing to make you a hero.”

This week, while sitting in an airline lounge, I overheard a man say those words to someone on the phone. That line stuck with me and made me smile.

It reminded me of why we exist at AME. Our purpose extends beyond improving processes, reducing waste or implementing lean tools. At our core, we’re here to elevate people and to help leaders at every level become the heroes of their organizations. We focus on the people! We create a culture and environment where people can realize their gifts, develop and apply their talents, and feel a genuine sense of fulfillment for their contributions in pursuit of a common purpose. We are truly people-centric.

We’re not in this just making small, incremental changes every time. We’re here to drive bold, meaningful transformation. To challenge and support one another. To make our teams, our facilities and ourselves more capable, resilient and proud of the work we do every day.

From the tone of the conversation I overheard, it was clear that the man genuinely cared about the person he was speaking to. That sense of belief and commitment is what we owe each other as peers and partners in improvement. We are truly here to share, learn and grow, and yes, to make others heroes. That sounds perfect, doesn’t it? I did share with the man after he finished his conversation that he had inspired me that day.
