See how cultural transformation is leading to demonstrable improvement across multiple clinical and nonclinical settings in a world-renowned international healthcare destination.

Overview

Our journey began with an enterprise A3 centered on creating a “culture of improvement” -- defined as “every caregiver capable, empowered and expected to make improvements every day.” Through early “model area” experiments, the Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model (CCIM, www.clevelandclinic.org/improve) was developed, tested and refined as a roadmap for caregivers in all roles across the enterprise to develop this culture through clearly defined systems and behaviors. Leveraging the CCIM and our culture of improvement, Cleveland Clinic has been making lasting progress in performance, patient experience and caregiver engagement. During your visit to our 1346-bed Main Campus, caregivers will share the systems, tools and behaviors outlined in the CCIM, as well as live examples of how they make things better for patients and caregivers every day in various clinical settings. Attendees will observe firsthand how leaders and teams align their work to what matters most, use visual management to understand performance, find, prioritize, and solve problems using a standard kaizen system, and apply standards throughout our work. Participants will be able to observe the underground logistics that enhance patient-centered healthcare.

Please note: A signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is required. Participants must comply with Cleveland Clinic COVID-19 and masking policies. No photos or videos will be allowed in patient care areas.
