As Easter hops into view (yes, pun intended) for those who celebrate, I want to thank each of you for the hard work, dedication and innovation you bring to our manufacturing community. Like the bunny sneaking around to deliver surprises, many of you work behind the scenes to make things run smoothly, often without the recognition you deserve. You don’t just show up once a year with a basket of chocolates — you’re building, problem solving and innovating every single day.
Think about it — the Easter Bunny is basically a lean, agile operator. Just like us in the continuous improvement community, the bunny is all about delivering value efficiently (with minimal waste), working quietly behind the scenes and delighting the customer. It’s the ultimate pull system — nobody gets a basket until there’s a need!
In all seriousness, I can’t think of a better time to reflect on the incredible resilience and passion that defines our members, and I want to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all of you.
Let’s keep that energy going, ears up, eyes forward, and ready for whatever comes next!
Hop on over and join us in Newport News Virginia the week of May 6 at the AME Hampton Roads 2025 Lean Summit. There’s something truly inspiring about watching the professionals who build the world’s largest aircraft carriers at Newport News Shipbuilding, stepping behind the scenes at the Port of Virginia and exploring cutting-edge innovations in healthcare and manufacturing facilities. Share, learn and grow with us in Hampton Roads!
As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
