AME | March 20, 2018

Known as the hub of innovation, San Diego is the home to companies such as Qualcomm, Kyocera, Scripps Health and defense contractors General Atomics, Cubic and NASSCO. This year it’s the site of AME International Conference on October 29 – November 1, 2018.

With the theme of “Create Waves of Excellence,” AME San Diego 2018 will explore big changes making waves in manufacturing. This includes the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, wearables and more. It offers attendees a compelling mix of keynote speakers, practitioner-to-practitioner sessions, plant tours, workshops and numerous networking opportunities throughout the week.

This year, keynote speakers include award-winning innovation expert and highly sought-after speakers, Jeremy Gutsche. He’s helped guide brands, investors and CEOs to find better ideas faster. Other keynotes include entrepreneur and former NFL star quarterback Joe Theismann, Goodyear’s Billy Taylor, leadership expert Liz Wiseman and award-winning performance coach Dr. Ivan Joseph. Check the AME San Diego keynotes page for more keynotes to be added.

Once again in San Diego, attendees will have the opportunity to see enterprise excellence in person through more than 30 plant tours. Organizations offering tours include the City of San Diego, Costco Optical Lab, General Atomics, Thermo Fisher Scientific, the United States Post Office and DJO Global. Many more will be added so check the AME San Diego Tours page for more information.

As always, our conference is driven by practitioner-to-practitioner learning at interactive sessions throughout the conference (Tuesday, October 30 through Thursday, November 1). Attendees can also take a deeper dive into lean and continuous improvement at workshops that will be offered on Monday, October 29.

Once again this year, attendees will have the opportunity to share, learn and grow with their peers at various networking events throughout the conference. Some of the events include the Dine-Around, AME-zing Race and the ClubNuBee orientation session.

New this year in San Diego is the Emerging Leaders Program. It will give new and emerging leaders the opportunity to grow their leadership skills and gain access to exclusive networking and learning opportunities throughout the conference. If you are an emerging leader or would like to nominate one from your organization, visit the Emerging Leaders page on the AME website.
