Overview

PLZ Corp's efforts are grounded in the SQDC-G framework — safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth — which is used daily to set priorities and guide decision-making.

You’ll see evidence of PLZ Corp's model line initiative, where the company has focused on making one line “world-class” across all TPM pillars. This pilot line serves as a proving ground for tools and practices intended to scale plant-wide, allowing the company to narrow its focus, build capability and ensure long-term sustainment.

The tour will also showcase PLZ Corp's journey toward visual management and continuous improvement. A key aspect of this has been its commitment to making the inconspicuous, conspicuous — using real-time data and actionable visuals. To address longstanding issues with data integrity in downtime tracking, the company has implemented an Ignition SCADA system on its high-speed lines, significantly improving accuracy and insight.

Leadership development and retention has been another area of focus. To better support internal promotion and skills growth, the company has created a dedicated training center. You’ll see its approach to both technical and leadership training, including a simple visual board outlining a rolling two-week training plan and a space where employees can request specific learning opportunities.

Finally, the tour will feature recent automation investments, including Keyence vision systems for inline quality inspection and compact palletizing cells designed to reduce manual labor and ergonomic risks.
