The term “Industry 4.0” originated in 2011 and is intended to describe the fourth industrial revolution. Manufacturer’s progress toward the promise of the revolution has been uneven. However, there is still plenty of opportunity to reap real benefits with a sound adoption of both lessons learned and technology that just keeps getting better.
