David Woessner is a co-founder and partner at FutureOf, where he focuses on advising, investing and providing advocacy alongside his clients and portfolio companies who are navigating new markets, new business models and disruptive technologies to usher in the future of community, mobility, industry and energy. He is also the managing partner of W Advisors & Co., where he focuses on providing thought leadership and delivering keynote speaking engagements on a variety of topics.
Previously, Woessner served as chief development officer of LM Industries (the parent company of Local Motors and Neorizon, a joint venture with Airbus Group), where his focus was on guiding the strategic direction of the company while managing critical external relationships. An internationally recognized thought leader who has been at the forefront of emerging technologies such as electrification, connectivity, automation, advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence for over a decade, Woessner spearheaded scaling Local Motors from the concept phase of Olli in 2015 to the commercialization phase of Olli 2.0 in 2020. Along the way, he created new revenue streams and business models, prepared the organization for growth and paved the way for new government regulations across the globe.
Woessner has served as a guest lecturer and presenter at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, University of Maryland, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Michigan State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology and Wabash College. He earned an MBA and a master's in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology while serving multiple terms on the National Society of Black Engineers’ National Board of Directors. He received his bachelor's in physics and German from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
