Highlights
Mistake-proofing is a powerful set of techniques that either keep defects from occurring or indicate immediately when a defect does occur. It relies on creativity and common sense to create low cost, effective inspection and prevention devices and designs. It is often called by its Japanese translation Poka-Yoke. With design thinking trending, and the maker movement in full swing, today there are options for mistake-proofing that were far more costly and difficult in the past.
