Jakob Hilton is an associate director at Illumina in the operational excellence organization where he manages a global operational excellence support team. He has over 15 years of engineering, operational and continuous improvement experience in the aerospace, energy and biotech industries. Hilton holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from California State University of Long Beach. 
Michael Hobbs is associate director of operational excellence at Illumina with focused interests in strategy deployment, lean leadership, 6S, design of experiments and statistical modeling. He has been working in the biotech industry since 2006. Initially leveraging technical expertise in the enzymology of DNA metabolism, his career focus rapidly shifted to the study and application of lean and six sigma cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
