Tuesday, Oct. 25 Location Code
12:00pm-4:00pm Press Club Room, 2nd floor TT/09
Overview

As a preferred supplied to the leading printers and major printing systems manufacturers, AVT relies on 5S principles to deliver world class optical and color measurement technologies to demanding customers. In 15 days during 2015, AVT relocated its design, assembly and test facility, as well as its Americas parts depot, to an upgraded facility in Dallas over 20 miles away. AVT met this challenge by fully integrating 5S practice into the relocation process. Employees were charged with evaluating their area and, applying 5S, tasked with developing a proposal for a fully functional and efficient work cell in the new facility. This allowed the transfer to be executed without any significant delay in product shipments and without degradation of spare parts support services. On this tour, learn from the team how the 5S made it happen.
