Process control to drive operational excellence

The O’Fallon Casting tour will showcase how the company integrates lean tools and innovative technologies to drive operational excellence. Visitors will see firsthand the experimentation and development of new materials in wax to produce more complex parts and how new wax presses and home-rebuilt presses are used to better control temperature and pressure while capturing critical parameters to ensure process control aligns with quality. 

The tour will highlight advanced methods for controlling temperature and humidity in critical areas using modern atomization equipment and SCADA systems to enhance working conditions and part quality. Participants will also observe how O’Fallon Casting conducts controlled samples of materials in its new Materials Lab to meet strict parameters for superior product quality. 

The tour will emphasize the company's commitment to sustainability, showcasing efforts to improve its green footprint through initiatives such as a water recycling plant, removal of hydrofluoric acid, and the elimination of reliance on high water and energy consuming boilers. Additionally, guests will learn how digital x-ray conversion for key high-volume parts reduces reliance on film x-ray. The integration of lean tools, including KPI and problem-solving boards, Hijunka boards for workload balancing, and digital boards to enhance team alignment, will be demonstrated. 

This immersive experience will provide attendees with valuable insights into how O’Fallon Casting continues to push the boundaries of operational excellence while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
