Key learning objectives
- Experience an introduction to Training Within Industries principles and why they continue to be relevant today.
- Learn how to rapidly create standard work using a variety of tools, including smart phone video, voice transcription and AI tools such as Scribe and ChatGPT.
- Explore how tools such as Augmented Reality can be used in training and error proofing at work.

John Hunt is a seasoned manufacturing consultant and operational strategist at OMEP, where he leads complex transformation initiatives across Oregon’s manufacturing sector. With over a decade of hands-on experience, Hunt specializes in lean systems design, process improvement and leadership development — helping organizations simplify complexity, align teams and accelerate performance.
Grounded in chemical and process engineering (B.S. and M.S., Oregon State University), Hunt combines technical depth with systems thinking, emotional intelligence and a deep respect for people. He works across food, electronics, software and general manufacturing — bridging the shop floor and the boardroom with equal fluency.
At OMEP, he mentors fellow consultants, develops blended learning tools (including interactive business simulations) and supports strategic growth for clients. Known for his clarity, curiosity, and bias for action, Hunt empowers leaders to build resilient, people-centered systems that thrive in dynamic environments.
