Overview

Your tour of Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) will begin with an introduction and a presentation of recent efforts of the physical plant and process improvements, followed by a yard windshield tour. The tour will highlight the 2.5-mile long, 0.5 mile wide, campus adjacent to the James River. Upon the return, several NNS employees will field participants’ questions. Key takeaways will include the challenges of adopting technology in conjunction with the large physical nature of shipbuilding. Best practices will highlight how NNS manages its continued transformation and growth through physical plant investments and trades development.
