Overview

In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, effective leadership requires more than just authority – it demands empathy, adaptability and a deep understanding of human behavior. This workshop integrates the latest insights from neuroleadership research with proven lean leadership principles to provide participants with actionable strategies for coaching and team development. Through interactive discussions and hands-on exercises, attendees will learn how to leverage neuroscience principles to enhance their coaching effectiveness. By mastering techniques such as empathetic listening and strategic questioning, leaders can create an atmosphere of psychological safety where team members feel valued, heard and motivated to contribute their ideas and learn from setbacks.

Interactive components

  1. Self-assessment of their personal leadership behaviors and how well they deploy them into their organizations.
  2. Videos that dive deeper into the learning objectives, followed by an interactive discussion.
  3. Three breakout activities around social needs, deep listening and asking better questions.
  4. Activities that last approximately 90 minutes each and include a group debrief and reflection time to capture learnings.
  5. Opening and closing activities to help leaders learn to appreciate the power of dialogue in team settings.

Presenters

Dr. Bryan Cutliff, FACHE is an organizational and leadership psychologist, fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and partner within S A Partners, a global strategy deployment and organization transformation consulting firm. Dr. Cutliff specializes in helping organizations leverage their strategic vision and use communication models to improve the safety and quality of the services rendered, deliver an exceptional customer experience, deepen relationships with employees and achieve operational objectives.

As a Lean leadership business consultant, his expertise includes organizational assessment, leadership development, personal and team development and coaching, conflict management and resolution, business negotiations, program facilitation, and change management. Within these areas and in his capacity as CEO, he has worked with front-line employees and regional and national executives to cascade the organization’s purpose while improving the quality and safety metrics throughout the organizations he leads.

Jim Milkulski is a people-centered, process-focused and results-driven OpEx transformation leader and consultant. Milkulski advises and supports global clients from the shop floor to the C-suite and has led OpEx transformations in a variety of sectors, including aerospace, chemicals, plastics, medical devices, industrials and semiconductors. Over the past 22 years, he has trained and coached over 2,800 people in Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. Lean leadership and certified 380 Green Belts, Black Belts, and Lean Masters. Milkulski's work with employers and clients has generated breakthrough results in performance with sustained success, providing over $54 million in profit.

Milkulski started his career 27 years ago on the shop floor as an apprentice toolmaker. His early career included roles as a manufacturing, quality and project engineer. After learning the power of Kaizen and 3P from Shingijutsu, he was inspired to pursue a career in operational excellence. He is a member of ASQ, SME, and a board member for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).
