Highlights

Join Porsche Consulting to discover their Smart Factory concept and implementation.

Overview

Porsche Consulting is a unique management consultancy that draws its knowledge from real-world experiences within the Volkswagen automotive group to craft smart and pragmatic solutions for clients. Porsche Consulting was founded out of the restructuring of the sports car maker in 1994. What started as Lean implementation at Porsche has evolved over the decades into Smart Factory and digital transformation implementations across the world.

The tour will include a presentation of the Smart Factory concept used at Porsche and diverse industries across the globe. For decades, operating processes were optimized with conventional lean methods. Today, production and logistics are going through the next big leap in development toward collaborative intelligence between humans and machines. This enables gains in the efficiency, versatility, reliability, sustainability and attractiveness of factory operations.

For those who approach it the right way, performance gains of over 20 percent are achievable from defining the mission and implementing new solutions and processes to building new capabilities in the workforce and the organization.

A few key takeaways include:

  • Only a holistic vision and company-wide design principles promise success
  • Only well-founded process objectives ensure that solutions are derived from the actual problems instead of available technologies
  • Only scalable applications – and no stand-alone solutions – are economical

The day will also include a tour of the Porsche Experience Center, which shows not only the heritage of the company but also the technological innovation of today in action.

Please note: Attendees who would like to do demonstration laps can sign up individually, first-come, first-serve on the Porsche Experience Center website when registration opens for $100 at the 11 a.m. time slot. There will be no refunds.

Please note: Personal identification is required to attend this tour.

Company

The successful restructuring of the sports car manufacturer Porsche provided the impetus to found the management consultancy Porsche Consulting in 1994. Porsche had gained significant experience and knowledge in the process of overcoming its crisis, so the idea was hatched to make that expertise available to other companies as well. Four Porsche employees formed the founding team of Porsche Consulting. That once small office in Zuffenhausen has since become a globally active management consultancy.

What they do at Porsche Consulting, they do with passion. Porsche Consulting brings that heart and pioneering spirit to the pursuit of success for its clients. And their team is proud of every vision that doesn’t remain a vision. The success of their projects is rooted in the collaboration with their clients and employees. The destination, after all, is only reached when they succeed in getting everyone on board with needed changes. With curiosity. With unconventional ideas. Always with an eye on the implementation. As consultants, they tackle every task as a fresh challenge to be mastered and never rest on their laurels. They always want to take the next step toward improvement. Their independence is a boon in that effort and gives them the space they need for the more unconventional solutions. https://www.porsche-consulting.com/usa/en/homepage-0
