Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is dedicated to fostering a culture that prioritizes patient-centered care, compassion and community well-being. Its mission is improving the health of the community in all they do through the safest environment, highest-quality care, unparalleled service, easiest access and innovative healthcare services. Its vision reflects this commitment to be the preferred and indispensable healthcare resource in the communities it serves.

NGHS strives to enhance its facilities and expand services across multiple campuses, giving people convenient, local access to the care they need the most. This includes investments in state-of-the-art technology and innovative treatment options, reinforcing its dedication to staying at the forefront of health care. In April 2024, the company opened its new NGMC Lumpkin hospital with advanced surgery and smart inpatient rooms. During this same month, Northeast Georgia Physician Group performed its first histotripsy procedure that offers patients an alternative for treating liver cancer tumors, with no need for incisions or invasive surgery. NGHS is one of the first eight hospitals in the world to offer histotripsy.

Northeast Georgia Health System's lean journey has been a transformative effort aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and patient care. With strong leadership commitment, the team has integrated lean principles organization-wide, providing extensive training to eliminate waste and increase value. During the tour, you'll see the NGHS team's dedication to 5S methodology. Discover the company's Kaizen philosophy, where every team member contributes to continuous improvement, and learn how root cause analysis addresses issues at their source. Witness its daily management system that creates alignment and focus on flow, value creation, and variation reduction to enhance the patient experience and elevate the quality of care their team provides.
