Value stream mapping

Understanding the whole: From sales to shop to customer

Overview

Value stream mapping (VSM) is a method designed to look at our process from a macro- and cross-functional perspective. When done properly, VSM surfaces critical performance barriers in today's process flow, and gives us a way to algin on how to break down our organizational silos and address those issues.

Though it is a term highly recognized among lean practitioners, VSM may be one of the most misunderstood and underutilized lean principles. Properly applied value stream mapping is a highly effective methodology for aligning leadership teams, identifying critical leverage points, and connecting organizational goals with tactical improvement activities.

Whether you are looking to improve performance in the factory, field, engineering, or support operations, join us in this interactive session to get an idea of what VSM is, as well as its benefits and potential relevance to your organization. See how — when properly applied — value stream mapping can create buy in and collaboration among the leadership team, engage middle management and empower the work force for high impact results.
